Michael Rios, of San Antonio, told KABB-TV that around 4 p.m. Wednesday he was at La Popular Bakery with his two children, ages 1 and 2, when a couple approached him.

At first, the couple complimented his kids. Then, he said, the conversation became odd.

According to Rios, the woman said, “Your kids are really beautiful. Would you be interested in selling one of them, or both of them?”

The couple offered him $500, Rios said. The woman added that since Rios is young he could have more children.

Rios refused the offer and took a photo of the couple in the van they were driving.

Rios contacted police, and said he was disappointed that it took two hours for an officer to get in touch with him to file a report. The TV station reached out to the San Antonio Police Department, but said they hadn’t received a response.

Rios told KABB-TV that he’s haunted by the encounter.

“I can’t sleep at night, because I see their faces,” Rios said. “That’s how scary it is. I drive around my neighborhood, and I’m afraid to see that van.”
