Macias pulled over, bought 20 paletas, or Popsicles, and gave the man $50. Macias also asked to take Fidencio Sanchez' picture. He started a GoFundMe campaign for the man which has raised nearly $274,000 by Tuesday.

Sanchez' daughter recently died. His wife was selling Popsicles but she got sick, so he went back to pushing the cart to pay their bills. He starts early in the day and ends around 8 p.m., earning $50 a day.

"It's really hard working out here in the streets, in the summer and cold winter. Even in bad weather we still have to go out and sell and the carts get stuck in the streets," Sanchez told WLS-TV.

Sanchez, although given a life-changing fortune, plans to continue working, according to WLS-TV.
