The Republican National Convention kicked-off Monday with banners, flags, protests and a speech from Melania Trump, the wife of the presumptive GOP candidate for president.
The beginning of the four-day event, which, if everything goes as expected, will end with the nomination of Donald Trump for president, saw speeches by celebrities, politicians and members of the military.
In breaking with tradition – something the candidate is familiar with – Trump introduced his wife before a screaming crowd at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
Melania Trump told the audience that if they were looking for steady leadership that Trump, "was the guy."
Come back Tuesday night for live coverage of the events in Cleveland. We will be live-blogging each night of the convention, reporting some of the more interesting goings-on.
