A woman in Forest Grove, Oregon, reportedly followed the route Google Maps laid out for her – down a closed road marked with signs – into water, Seattle's KIRO-TV reports.
The woman's car became stuck in the water of flooded Southwest Fernhill Road and was pushed by the Tualatin River's current, according to Forest Grove Fire and Rescue.
Officials said the road was lined with signs clearly stating the road was closed.
Workers from NW Natural Gas saw the submerged car and called 911, according to fire officials.
The woman made it out without injury. Police took her to a nearby McDonald’s and waited with her until someone picked her up.
"If you come across a flooded roadway (whether it says it's closed or not), turn around – don't drown!" Forest Grove Fire and Rescue posted on Facebook.
