A father in Palm Coast has been accused of allegedly strangling his daughter Tuesday morning and stabbing her with a hair brush earlier this month, The Daytona News-Journal reports.

Flagler County deputies responded to the home of Charles Scott, 64, after receiving a call about a domestic disturbance. Deputies said Scott and his 45-year-old daughter were arguing at midnight over picking up his grandson from school, according to the police report.

During the argument, Scott allegedly knocked his daughter down “multiple times” and then “began choking her with both hands” until she almost passed out, News-Journal reports. Officers also noticed wounds on the daughter’s body that had already formed scabs. The victim said Scott stabbed her with a pointed handle of a hairbrush in a previous incident eight days earlier.

Scott was charged with domestic violence by strangulation, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and battery domestic violence.
