NASA seeks 'global selfie' on Earth Day

NASA is seeking selfies from all over the world in order to build a giant mosaic of Earth on Earth Day.

Photos tagged with #GlobalSelfie on Twitter, Instagram or Google+ will pop up on the agency's social media feed and be used for the out of this world collage.

NASA says it's collecting the pictures because even with all of its technology it cannot capture Earth in its complexity.

The global project is expected to be released to the public sometime in May.
