Eerie photos show empty roads as people take shelter from Hurricane Matthew

As Hurricane Matthew approached South Florida, people took shelter — and left typically busy roads clear.

Downtown areas of Lake Worth, Florida were void of visitors, and highways that usually would be bumper-to-bumper were empty.
