Early morning commuters got a surprise on their drive when they passed a flatbed truck, hauling a dead T. rex under a bloody sheet.
Pictures of the life-sized dinosaur replica traveling through London traffic quickly began popping up on the web, the first coming from one of the city's official Twitter accounts.
Trafalgar Square's traffic account snapped photos from traffic cameras, warning people of the "dinosaur in transit."
The PR stunt wasn't for the new "Jurassic World" movie, though.
Instead, the huge Tyrannosaurus rex was a marketing move put on by National Geographic.
Just below the dead dinosaur's open, fanged mouth hung a label from the truck's bed reading "National Geographic Channel."
"T.rex on the loose," one Twitter user tweeted after she snapped a picture of the beast.
Another praised the fun stunt, writing, "Phenomenal bit of PR from @NatGeo on my road this morning."
