Florence “SeeSee” Rigney first donned a nursing uniform in 1946, when she was a student nurse.

She has been an active member of the nursing profession ever since.

Rigney has been a nurse for almost 70 years, and at 90, is America's oldest working nurse, according to Nurselabs.

Having worked in operating rooms at hospitals across the country, Rigney reduced her workload to an on-call basis while she raised her children, and toyed with retirement at age 67.Within months, she was back in uniform.

Rigney now works two days a week at Tacoma General Hospital, helping to set up operating rooms for procedures.

Her coworkers call her a true inspiration and a very reliable nurse.

There’s one area where Rigney’s age may have caught up with her. She admits she’s not a “speedball” on the computer.

Hospital staff honored Rigney by throwing her a party, complete with balloons, flowers, a sash and tiara.

“I love nursing. Since I was a little girl, it was something that I always wanted to do.”Happy #NursesWeek!
