Within minutes of going live, the President Obama Facebook page had thousands of likes.

In his first post, Obama offers a video tour of his back yard, which he points out is also a national park.

Obama writes that he hopes the Facebook page will serve as a “place where we can have real conversations about the most important issues facing our country.”  He doesn’t waste any time diving into the issues, talking about the importance of addressing climate change on a global level.

But the president also promises “just for fun” stuff. That could mean plenty of photos and videos of the first dogs, Bo and Sunny.
