The Henry County Zoning Advisory Board voted at its Jan. 9 regular meeting to recommend denial of a rezoning request as well as a separate request for an amendment to the county’s comprehensive plan for a 1.15-acre tract at 1018 Hampton-Locust Grove Road, at its intersection with Rocky Creek Road.
The applicant requested a C-2 (general commercial) zoning for a planned small-box discount retail store, but county staff recommended denial because there is no existing commercial property in that general area and no commercial designation on the county’s Future Land Use Map on or near that site. Final approval on the possible rezoning would be up to the Board of Commissioners.
