Final renderings, construction documents and cost estimates for the redevelopment of Willis Park get previewed at an Avondale Estates commission work session, 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Avondale Estates City Hall, 21 North Avondale Plaza. Planning/landscape architecture firm jB+a will detail the park’s first renovation in decades, including a .75 acre open lawn area, a .2 mile perimeter path, a rebuilt main gateway off Dartmouth Avenue and two separate playgrounds. It’s presumed the total cost will be less than the $1.1 million the firm gave with earlier draft plans back in July.
The Willis Park Ad Hoc Committee was originally established in May 2011.
