Vandals cause large sewage spill in Dunwoody

A plastic garbage can lid clogged a sewer main Friday afternoon on Amberly Drive in Dunwoody, creating a large spill.

About 15,700 gallons of raw sewage dumped into West Nancy Creek before DeKalb County crews were able to dislodge and retrieve the lid.

The spill is blamed on vandalism.
