The State Board of Regents on Friday hired William McKinney to serve as president of Valdosta State University starting July 1.
McKinney, who is currently the vice chancellor for academic affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University in Fort Wayne, was the sole finalist for the position.
He replaces Patrick Schloss, who stepped down as president in June. Louis Levy is serving as the interim president.
