1. Feds cite deaths of developmentally disabled, say state must do more

The state's efforts to improve services for people with developmental disabilities still draw fire from federal attorneys who say that 79 of the 503 patients released since 2010 have died. 2. Atlanta woman killed in Grenada loved travel and dance

An autopsy determined that Jessica Lewis Colker of Atlanta died "as the result of an extensive skull fracture and asphyxia," police said Tuesday. She was killed on the beach in the Grenada town of St. David while her husband, Dr. Brian Melito, survived the attack. Read more.

3. Facebook-posting education official loses his job

Jeremy Spencer, now former associate superintendent over the virtual schools program, was fired after posting online on his Facebook page about race, religion and partisan politics. His boss, Superintendent Richard Woods, who was "disheartened and disgusted" by what he saw, announced Spencer's exit on Tuesday. Read more.

4. Bill would create new state civil rights law

5. Leader of armed Oregon militia group arrested and one militant dead, reports say

A law enforcement official told CNN that federal authorities arrested Oregon occupier leader Ammon Bundy and several of his followers in a traffic stop Tuesday evening. According to reports, at least one person died. The latest here.
