A temp worker with Georgia's Revenue Department is among five women who were indicted in connection with an alleged scheme to steal state tax refund checks, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Lisa Darden was the alleged ring leader of the group of five women indicted by a DeKalb County grand jury on racketeering charges, the TV station reported.

Darden was placed with the state by a company called Abacus, though she had a criminal record in DeKalb, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The theft ring is alleged to have stolen 27 refund checks totaling more than $100,000.
