New item-Briarcliff Road
A rabbi is concerned about a busy shopping center.
“There is a Whole Foods store on LaVista Road and Briarcliff Road in Toco Hills. There is an entrance/exit on the LaVista side and an entrance/exit on the Briarcliff side,” wrote Rabbi Israel Robinson.
He said many accidents have occurred at the area, and something needs to be done.
“As a car exits onto the Briarcliff side, the driver is given a choice - to make a right or a left. However, the left turn is not only dangerous, but it is illegal by county law. One must cross several double yellow lines and traffic going in the downtown direction on Briarclff cannot see a car coming over two lanes and trying to enter! I’ve witnessed the aftermath of many accidents at this stop sign over the years. It seems that the left arrow and lane need to be eliminated. It is both illegal and dangerous,” he added.

New item-Gwinnett County
Marty Doorman is frustrated over a frequent route for commuters in Gwinnett County.
“I am sure everyone who has ever driven Pleasant Hill Road between Buford Highway and the diamond interchange has complained about this nightmare,” he wrote.
He said the widening of the road to three lanes has not helped at all, because the problem is the lights that are not synchronized.
“It takes me 30 minutes to go between Buford Highway and Satellite Boulevard around 6 p.m., which could be cut in half if the lights were synchronized,” he added.

Update-Interstate 85
Earlier this month, we told you about Martha Wilson’s request for something to be done on Interstate 85 south, near exit 61, which leads to Peachtree City.
“Could you please ask the DOT to install a sign on the southbound exit ramp of I-85 exit 61 that both lanes must exit?” she asked.
She said that she witnessed one major accident (probably a fatality), and recently witnessed another due to the signage at this exit. DOT has marked the highway with a solid white line implying for drivers to not cross over too close to the exit, or return to the main highway. She said the exit lane then splits to a double lane exit at the top of the hill, and the outside lane is marked “Exit Only”.
We got a response from the DOT.
“If you look at the picture you will see that the exit is signed well before the actual exit. You’ll also notice that in the picture that the exit lane is a single lane with a solid white stripe to indicate that the right lane is an exit only lane and a 12-foot shoulder. As motorists travel down the road, the 12-foot shoulder becomes a second exit lane. After exit 61 motorists lose a lane and I-85 southbound becomes a three-lane road instead of a four-lane road,” wrote B. Annalysce Baker, who serves as a communication officer for the state agency.
