The Suwanee City Council voted Tuesday to set qualifying fees for the city’s Nov. 3 municipal election at $450 for mayor and $270 each for two open city council posts.
During the discussion of the upcoming election, Mayor Jimmy Burnette announced plans to seek a second term leading the city. Burnette served on the Suwanee City Council for 15 years before being elected mayor in 2011.
Councilmembers Dick Goodman and Doug Ireland also plan to seek reelection. Goodman joined the Suwanee City Council in 2010 after being elected to fill an unexpired term in 2009. Ireland has served as a council member since 2012.
