The suspect charged with shooting and killing a man in an argument at a Snellville Walmart will remain in jail without bond, Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge Timothy Hamil decided Friday.
Troy Hunte, 27, of Grayson, had asked Hamil for bond in the case, saying the shooting was in self-defense.

Hunte was walking into the Walmart on Scenic Highway with his fiancee and their newborn daughter on Aug. 19 when Hunte says Fadil Delcik pulled up too close to them in his car.
Delcik and the couple got into an argument. Hunte’s fiancee slapped Delcik, and Hunte shot Delcik once in the chest. Hunte and his fiancee both told police they felt threatened by Delcik. Hunte was initially charged with voluntary manslaughter, but the charges were upgraded to felony murder after the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office reviewed surveillance footage.
“(Delkic) actually left the first confrontation and went and parked,” District Attorney Danny Porter told Channel 2 Action News. “Then, more or less, the fight was brought to him.”
Porter said that criminal charges were “imminent” for Hunte’s fiancee, but she has not yet been arrested, according to jail logs.
Hunte’s family and friends asked Hamil to grant bond at a Wednesday hearing, saying they were prepared to pay up to $100,000 to get him out of jail, according to Channel 2.
“It’s totally out of character and it’s totally caught us off guard,” said Richard Grosvenor, Hunte’s boss at a car repossession company, in reference to the charges.
By Friday morning, Judge Hamil he had come to a decision: no bond.
Hunte remains in the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
