Sugar Hill Business Alliance board members recently presented Mayor Steve Edwards with a $5,000 check for the Sugar Hill Veterans Memorial Plaza. The organization raised the funds at their annual golf tournament held at the Sugar Hill Golf Club.
During the presentation, Trace Adkins, a long-time supporter of veterans and active military, took time to meet SHBA board members before performing hits like “Still a Soldier” in The Bowl.
Located across from Sugar Hill City Hall at the intersection of W. Broad Street and Church Street, the Sugar Hill Veterans Memorial Plaza will feature monuments recognizing each branch of military service. A water feature and eternal flame will be surrounded by a community plaza with space for visitors to contemplate the sacrifice and service of veterans and active military.
