Cobb PARKS’ staff will host a public input meeting 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 4 to hear comments and suggestions on the draft master plan for Violet F. Stout Park. The meeting will be held at the Ford Center, 4181 Atlanta St., Powder Springs behind the Powder Springs Library.

These park improvements are part of the voter-approved 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax with a project budget of $1.796 million, according to a county statement.

With two entrances, Stout Park has access at 5315 Brownsville Road, Powder Springs near Pine Valley Road or 5420 Stout Parkway, Powder Springs. Open space, fading into wooded acres, make up this 88-acre park. The property contains a house to be renovated into classrooms for environmental education studies. Equestrian show rings and paddocks will be available for horse enthusiasts. Visitors to Stout Park will be able to use hiking trails, equestrian trails and open meadows for picnics. Educational programs will be conducted in the environmental education facility and throughout the park.
