Henry County’s Building and Plan Review Department is growing to meet public demand, with the Board of Commissioners voting Nov. 7 to add four positions.
County officials said the purpose of this move is to provide an efficient and timely application process for permits as well as thorough building, developing and zoning compliance inspections for all construction projects. According to deputy county manager Brad Johnson, the department advertises a ten-day turnaround period from the time a permit is reviewed. The additional staff is expected to help that goal be met on every application while maintaining transparency with citizens throughout the process.
