Fayette County is accepting applications for an open seat on its Zoning Board of Appeals.

The five-member board hears and decides allegations of errors in zoning administrator decisions related to enforcing regulations, and can also issue permits or variances. Members, who serve three-year terms, must be county residents and may not hold any other public office, although one member may also be on the planning commission. The board meets monthly as needed at the administrative complex at 140 Stonewall Ave. West in Fayetteville. Board members are paid $75 per meeting but no more than $150 per month.

The current open term begins Jan. 1 and expires Dec. 31, 2021. Applications are available at www.fayettecountyga.gov and must be submitted by Dec. 28.
