South Fulton warehouse evacuated by ammonia leak
Employees at a south Fulton County cold storage facility were evacuated overnight because of an ammonia leak.
The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday at the Americold facility on Westgate Parkway off Fulton Industrial Boulevard.
Channel 2 Action News reported that an emergency shut-off valve stopped the flow of ammonia, and 40 employees were evacuated while firefighters cleared an ammonia cloud that had formed.
No injuries were reported.
