The Peachtree City Water & Sewerage Authority has offered to help with negotiations between the city and the town of Tyrone regarding a possible water treatment deal.
Tyrone officials approached Peachtree City earlier this year asking to buy 350,000 gallons per day of sewage treatment capacity, but a draft intergovernmental agreement seems to have stalled over terms. At the City Council meeting on Nov. 3, Mayor Pro Tem Mike King said, “I don’t think they [Tyrone] really understood the cost involved.”
PCWASA board member Phil Mahler said the authority would be willing to intervene, but council member Terry Ernst said only the council was authorized to negotiate such agreements.
