Major repairs and renovations to several Fayette County schools are nearing completion just as teachers and students prepare to return next week.
Mike Satterfield, the system’s facilities director, told the Board of Education Monday night that “a lot of hard work by a lot of people” helped meet deadlines.
Teachers are moving back into Huddleston Elementary this week, and a final push is on to finish projects at Kedron and Spring Hill elementary schools. Satterfield said good weather enabled crews to complete roof and HVAC projects ahead of schedule at Starr’s Mill and Sandy Creek high schools and at Rising Starr Middle School.
