Sandy Springs officials recently unveiled plans for streetscape improvements on Sandy Springs Circle between Hammond Drive and Mt. Vernon Highway that tie in with the nearby City Springs project.
The $7 million project calls for canopy street trees, upgraded lighting, a multi-use path on one side of the roadway, sidewalks, landscaping, on-street parking and other improvements. In addition, the existing four-lane roadway will be modified into one 11-foot-wide travel lane in each direction with a 10-foot median/left turn lane and an 8-foot parking lane.
City officials said the .32-mile project is expected to be under construction in early 2017 and finish in early 2018.
