Trying to beat the heat? Struggling families may benefit from a program run by The Salvation Army Metro Atlanta Area Command.
The Salvation Army is giving away 1,000 box fans, while supplies last, to individuals and families seeking assistance through its metro programs and services throughout the week.
The fans are being made available with the help from the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and will distributed by select programs throughout the 13-county services area. The fans will be given to people who don't have air conditioning units, insufficient funds to buy units and residents of nursing homes.
