The Roswell City Council has approved a $56,266 renovation of the Solid Waste Division Facility to address the building’s age, the growing number of personnel and an insufficient layout.

“This remodel/renovation will increase the efficiency of the building space (and) provide additional internal storage space and an additional locker room for staff,” according to a staff report to the council.

Plans for the facility, 1810 Hembree Road, call for constructing and renovating an office; constructing a storage closet with shelving; installing floor-to-ceiling staff lockers; installing flooring and carpeting; and painting the interior of the entire building.

The council also approved covering $41,518 of the project’s cost by transferring money from the Solid Waste Operating Fund to the Capital Projects Fund, and accounting for the balance – for flooring and painting – as scheduled repair and maintenance already budgeted.
