The Roswell City Council Monday night unanimously approved a contract under which city municipal court services will continue to be privatized.
The $684,900 deal with Jacobs Engineering Group is for an 18-month term and represents a roughly $8,800 annual increase from the current contract. There’s also an option to renew for three additional one-year terms.
Deputy City Administrator Michael Fischer said customer satisfaction and the level of professionalism has increased and that tax money’s been saved since Jacobs took over operation of court staff in December of 2013, with annual operating expenses pared down from from $1.66 million to $1 million and the level of fines and fees over expenses increasing from $172,000 to $604,000.
