Nearly 6,000 electricity customers in southeast DeKalb County were without power for nearly 40 minutes early Thursday morning, Georgia Power officials said.
“We had a whole substation out,” spokeswoman Carol Boatright told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
She said power at the Lithonia substation on Hillandale Drive went out around 7:15 a.m., and crews immediately rushed to the scene to find the source of the problem.
Now, all but about 400 customers have had power restored,” Boatright said.
