The Powder Springs City Council voted 5-0 May 7 to spend $503,736 on an array of projects such as insurance and infrastructure.

They include:

  • $243,250 to continue the city's property and liability coverages with the Georgia Interlocal Risk Management Agency from this month to April 2019.
  • $86,200 more to Croy Engineering for easement acquisition for the water line replacement project on Sharon Drive since 12 easements are needed for construction access due to the narrow, existing right of way.

  • $29,867 to Ardito Construction Company Inc. to repair the roadway and shoulder at the intersection of Fambrough Drive and Springs Industrial Drive.
  • $6,000 for hard drives to store videos taken from police department body cameras and vehicle cameras from fee . increases in the number of building permit issuances.
  • $5,454 for the clearing and repair of a sewer connection on Brooks Lane due to a sewer backup caused by tree roots in the city's right of way.
  • $3,120 annually to Edge Business Systems to renew the lease for up to four one-year periods and copy costs of $.0065 per black-and-white image copy and $.065 for color-image copy of a HP DesignJet T1530 plotter.
