The Powder Springs Planning and Zoning Commission voted Monday to recommend approval of a special use request by Robert Gestler to open his business that manufactures and renovates elevators.
Gestler plans to move his Elevations South from Hiram to the nearly 6,000-square-foot building at 4505 Atlanta St. that was built in 1910 and sits on almost a third acre.
The commission is recommending no outside storage and no exterior renovations - though a small parking pad and an enclosed dumpster may be installed.
Also, due to the historical value of the now-vacant warehouse, wall signage would be allowed but not on the brick.
A public hearing on this request is planned for 7 p.m. Monday in the city’s Municipal Court building, 4483 Pineview Drive.
