The Enclave at Powder Springs, containing 120 townhomes, was approved 4-0 Monday, Sept. 21, by the Powder Springs City Council.

The mixed-use development also will include office and retail space on the vacant 10.5 acres at New Macland Road and Marietta Street next to the Silver Comet Trail and near the city’s Linear Park, said attorney Kevin Moore on behalf of Powder River LLC.

Moore said plans are to begin construction “right away” with the same site plan approved by the city in 2006.

No more than 5 percent of the townhomes will be rental with the rest for sale, and the community will have a homeowners association, he added.

Minimum heated-and-cooled living space will be 1,800 square feet each with two-car, rear-loaded garages and rear alleys and pocket parks throughout, Moore said.
