Steven Krokoff, since February the interim city manager of Milton as well as its police chief, has been named the final candidate for the city manager’s job.

The City Council is expected to confirm the appointment at its July 11 meeting, according to an announcement by the city.

Krokoff, a 23-year law-enforcement veteran, was appointed Milton’s police chief in February 2015. He was named interim city manager after Chris Lagerbloom resigned to take the job of assistant city manager in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Krokoff came to Milton from the Albany, N.Y., Police Department. He has a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in business administration from the State University of New York at Albany.

He has served on Habitat for Humanity’s board of directors and on the National Executive Session on Policing and Public Safety at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
