Fourteen bridges and two tunnels along Peachtree City’s multi-use path system are now slated for repairs “for the safety and longevity of the structures.”

The City Council voted 5-0 on March 5 to award a contract worth $89,150 to Engineered Restorations, Inc. of Lawrenceville. Following an assessment of all of the city’s bridges and tunnels, staff decided which repairs could be handled in-house and which needed contracted services. Among the affected bridges are those on Crosstown Drive, Braelinn Pond, Flat Creek at Old Mill, Blue Smoke Trail, Kedron Cove, Astoria Lane and the pedestrian bridge over Lake Kedron. The tunnels being repaired are those on Blue Smoke Trail and on Ga. 74 at Ardenlee.

Some of the funding will come from the Capital Improvement Program fund and the rest will come from the SPLOST account.
