A Paulding County eighth-grade student was arrested after he was found with a loaded gun at Austin Middle School, the sheriff’s office said Thursday.

The boy, whose name was not released, showed the semi-automatic handgun to another student, who alerted a school administrator Wednesday, Sgt. Ashley Henson said. The boy was removed from class and the gun was located, Henson said.
