Several projects aimed at increasing multi-use path connectivity along Redwine Road and the Starr’s Mill school complex in Fayette County have hit speed bumps.

The Board of Commissioners discussed updates at its March 8 meeting, including a planned 1.5-mile path extension along Redwine Road that is behind schedule and underfunded because the lowest bid so far is still above the $1.8 million maximum set by the Georgia Department of Transportation. A tunnel under Redwine Road at Panther Path will delayed until summer 2019 because of utility line and right-of-way conflicts.

A request to connect Millpond Manor and possibly adjacent subdivisions to the Starr’s Mill site is also pending.
