The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its Aug. 20 regular meeting to approve rezoning request involving a 30.9-acre tract at 469 Mount Bethel Road in McDonough, north of Hwy. 81 in the Ola community.
The request was for a single-family subdivision, and the applicant stated that the plan calls for 29 lots, which county officials said is within the Future Land Use Map guidelines for that site at less than one lot per acre. All of the lots will have individual septic tanks since sewer is not available in that area, an issue about which more than one commissioner expressed concern and urged that the board meet with the Henry County Water Authority soon to discuss.
No one spoke for or against the request during the public hearing, and the board vote to approve was unanimous.
