Office opening early for tax break applications

The Forsyth County Tax Assessor’s Office is extending hours to accommodate residents filing Homestead Extension property tax applications.

The office will open 30 minutes earlier than normal, at 8 a.m., through Wednesday at the Forsyth County Administration Building, 110 E. Main. St., Cumming. This is the only location opening early. Closing is 5 p.m.

Those who purchased a home during 2014, were living there Jan. 1 of this year, consider it their primary legal residence and aren’t claiming the exemption at any other location are eligible for the property tax break. The 2015 deadline is Wednesday.
