The Suwanee City Council voted recently to approve a zoning change to allow 67 attached single-family townhomes along the southern side of Northolt Parkway within the Suwanee Gateway Planned Mixed Use Development District. The 11 acres of wooded, undeveloped land was zoned for office and institutional uses as part of a larger planned development.

The applicants, John A. Hastings and Lennar Georgia Inc., presented a plan for approximately six units per acre with brick front and side facades and cement siding accents. Conditions of approval include each unit will be a minimum of 2,000 square feet, with a minimum width of 24 feet. The maximum building height will be three stories with driveways a minimum of 22 feet deep. The development will provide predestrian connections from townhomes facing Northolt Parkway to the existing sidewalk network on Northolt.
