After months of being short-handed, the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners is back to full strength.

Newly-elected District 2 Commissioner Dennis T. Brown was sworn into office Nov. 14 by Probate Judge Woody Jordan. District 2 covers much of the southern portion of the county. Brown fills the unexpired term of Rick Swope, who resigned in August. He’ll serve through Dec. 31, 2020.

Brown retired from the U.S. Army/Georgia National Guard in 2010 following a 30-year career that included serving in a number of leadership roles in Afghanistan. He’s also held local, state and national roles with the Republican Party including precinct chair and state convention delegate.
