The city of Milton swore in three council members at its Monday night meeting.
District 2/Post 2 member Matt Kunz, District 3/Post 2 Councilman Rick Mohrig and District 1/Post 2 representative Burt Hewitt were administered the oath of office by Judge Brian Hansford. In addition, Matt Kunz was elected mayor pro tem for the next year.
All three qualified for office in 2015 and no one filed to oppose them, so the city’s November election was canceled.
Council members also unanimously approved several subdivision plats, including one creating 27 new lots in the Blue Valley Subdivision phase 2B on Birmingham Highway, and another creating 26 lots in Manorview Phase 3 on Hopewell Road.
