The Milton City Council has approved a contract with Crabapple Green LLC allowing seven “Meet Me in Milton” community events this year.

The contract gives Milton a temporary license to use the Green, a triangular lawn across from City Hall, on certain dates at no cost to the city.

"Meet Me" is described as a series of block parties, 4 to 8 p.m. on select Saturdays, April through October. The event is free, family friendly and presented by the city and local businesses with live music, food and drinks, according to the event website.

The 2020 season will offer a Cornhole Tournament, April 18; Movie on the Green, May 16; Car Show/Touch a Truck, June 20; Art Show, July 18; Meet the MHS Eagles/Cambridge Bears, Aug. 15; and a UGA tailgate and Chili Cook-off/Trunk or Treat/Live Band on dates to be determined in September and October, respectively.
