The Milton City Council has approved a $21,450 contract to raze a house and clean up the property of a residence that’s to be replaced by a roundabout at Hopewell and Thompson roads.

American Property Restoration Inc. submitted the lowest of three bids for the job at 15270 Hopewell Road, according to a staff report to the council. The company is tasked with demolishing the house, removing a carport and an above-ground swimming pool, and hauling away debris and trash.

Once the site is cleared, the contractor must grade and add fill as needed and stabilize disturbed areas with seed and straw or mulch.

Milton purchased the house for the roundabout project using TSPLOST funds designated for the roundabout project, a city spokesman said.
