The result of an Emory University summit with public health officials and medical experts from around the world, a new global coalition will address the rising epidemic of people at high risk of heart disease and stroke.

It will be led by Emory professor Omar Lattouf and Nicolas Chronos, president of Saint Joseph’s Translational Research Institute. MISTY WILLIAMS

Only about 30 percent of driver's are renewing their licenses on-line. That's prompted the state Department of Driver Services to suggest why the Internet is a better option than an in-person visit to the customer service center. Here's some of the agency's rationale: online service is 24 hours, seven days a week. Service centers are closed Mondays, have long lines after holidays and on Tuesdays; 24-hour, 7-day a week online service; discounts are available for some online services; save gas, wear-and-tear on the car and time online.
