Marietta city officials will hold budget public hearings at noon and 5 p.m. Wednesday in the City Hall Council Chamber, lobby level, City Hall, 205 Lawrence St., Marietta.

The recommended budget for Fiscal Year 2018 will go into effect July 1 with no anticipated tax increase, remaining at the current 2.788 mills.

Marietta’s FY 2018 budget is $322 million, including $56.69 million for the general fund budget.

The general fund budget pays for general government services , including police and fire services, parks and recreation programs, code enforcement, planning and development and streets and public works maintenance.

During the hearing, city staff will present a brief overview of the budget, then citizens may comment and ask questions.

The Marietta City Council will consider the budget for approval at 7 p.m. June 14, also in the Council Chamber.
