The man struck by a MARTA train and killed Monday night at the Lindbergh Center station has been identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office.

Nicholas Utley, 25, of Chamblee was struck and killed by a northbound MARTA train at 7:52 p.m.,  said Lyle Harris, spokesman for the transit agency.

MARTA police were investigating why Utley was on the track at the time, Harris said.

Rail service was suspended at Lindbergh Center, and bus service was provided to rail customers between the Arts Center Station and the Buckhead and Lenox stations, Harris said.

By 10:45 p.m., trains were running again, though not stopping at Lindbergh Center station, which remained closed, Harris said. Bus service was still running to Lindbergh.

The station reopened to customers early Tuesday.
