A man is facing charges after allegedly robbing a Cherokee County bank of more than $7,000. He was indicted July 9, authorities said.

Nathan Dotson, 20, of Cobb County is accused of robbing a Regions Bank on Main Street in Woodstock early this year, according to Woodstock police spokesman Sgt. Randy Milligan.

At 9 a.m. on April 30, Dotson allegedly walked into the bank and handed a note written in red ink to a bank teller demanding money in specific increments. Tellers gave Dotson a bag containing all the money from the bank’s registers, and he walked out the door, according to the incident report.

Dotson was connected to the robbery after a family member gave a tip to police, Milligan said.

Dotson will face arraignment at 9 a.m. on Aug. 15.
