The Lilburn City Council voted unanimously recently to renew its contract with Advanced Disposal for solid waste collection and recycling services through June 30, 2022. The city negotiates rates for its residents and businesses. Property owners in the city limits pay a sanitation fee of $13.12 per month on their tax bill for this service, which is the lowest residential rate in Gwinnett after factoring in added fuel and other charges some cities incur. This includes once a week garbage, yard waste, bulk waste and recycling service.

Advanced Disposal pays a three percent franchise fee to the city for residential service and six percent franchise fee of gross revenue collected for commercial solid waste service to the city at the end of each quarter.

Advance Disposal also contributes to the city’s Public Art Fund, provides bi-weekly commercial dumpster service for City Park and the maintenance facility as well as roll-off dumpsters for two city events each year.
